CELESTE REVIEW

Once again friends,we finished a game with all their achievements , this time its the turn of Celeste.

Celeste is a platformer made by Extremely Okay Games and published by Maddy Makes Games, Creators of Tower Fall.

Celeste is an indie platformer featuring Madeline's journey up Celeste Mountain, navigating challenging obstacles while dealing with her own struggles with anxiety and depression. The game weaves a compelling narrative around self-discovery and mental health, offering both engaging gameplay and an emotional story.

Pros :

Good StoryTelling : There is not a lot of games talking about self-care , anxiety and personal growth.

Design and arts : Even if i'm not a fan of 2D pixelated games , this one was beautifull.

Dificulty : for some that is looking for new challenges , this game is for you , the controls are very precise and you'll have to train your muscles memory to get throught the levels.

Replayability : There is always room for improvments , making this game enjoyable for hundreds of hours ( Depending on the person tho).

Cons :

High Dificulty : While the main story is simple (only my opinion) the 100% will be extremely more harder. Get ready to be frustrated.

Short Playtime : The main story can be done in about few hours , the game would not be worth its in the only thing you want to do.

Achievements : Celeste contain 32 achievements, the time needed for them will highly depend on your skills ( Mine took 25h , pretty good score huh ? ).

Part 1 : Story Mode will be your first step in this cruel game. you will earn one achievement per chapters , and there is 7 on the base ( will talk about the rest later on this review ).

Part 2 : B and C side are more dificults levels obtained by collecting cassetes through the game. we will also introduce chapter 8 in this part , this will grant us 11 achievements ( This is only a preparation for the last step).

Part 3 : Collectibles in Celeste you have multiples collectibles (Strawberries , Crystal Hearts and Casettes that we should have already collected) In total it should be 175 strawberries and 7 Crystal Hearts + Chapter 8 Crystal Heart awarded at the end of the level. this step should give us 10 achievements. (take it as an opportunity to relax before things get serious.)

Part 4 : Miscellaneous this is only two achievements but they have to be mentioned! it ask you to do easy tasks to explore a bit more the game.

Part 5 : Hell, this is the step that will take most of your time , you have to complete Chapter 9 and get the moon berry , sound simple ? you fool , Chapter 9 is known for being the most frustating , long and complex level.The moon berry is just one more collectible at the end of Chapter 9 which ask you to get trhough a lot more levels just to get it. This is were True Achievements hunter will show their patience and their skills.
